Saddleback Chardonnay 2018

Saddleback Chardonnay 2018

Our steel-fermented Chardonnay

Chardonnay is known as a versatile grape that can be expressed in many different styles. At Veritas we make two: a barrel-fermented Chardonnay called Harlequin which is aged for six months in new French and American oak and its counterpart, Saddleback.

Pale gold in color, Saddleback Chardonnay is a crisp wine with precise fruit flavors and an almost austere minerality that is counter-balanced by the full mouthfeel from lees aging. Saddleback is full of flavors of fresh fruit salad brimming with apples, pears and luscious white melon.

PAIRINGS: Avocado, Chicken Salad, White Fish

Tasting Notes
The nose on the 2018 Saddleback is gushing with fresh fruit aromas of ripe apples, and honeydew melon, backed with bright tones of citrus fruits and light toast. The Saddleback Chardonnay is medium bodied and layered with ripe tree fruits, the soft impressions of spice and a backbone of minerality.
Food Pairing Notes
Saddleback Chardonnay is a perfect wine to compliment fish and shellfish dishes as well as pork and poultry.
