Tasting Notes
The aromas of the 2020 Saddleback are gushing with fresh fruit aromas of apples, and honeydew melon, backed with bright tones of citrus fruits and light toast. The Saddleback Chardonnay is medium bodied and layered with ripe tree fruits, the soft impressions of spice and a backbone of minerality.
Production Notes
Our Saddleback Chardonnay is modeled after the “old world” style from Chablis, France. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation, helping to keep the natural acidity of the Chardonnay grape. This is the first vintage in many years in which the Saddleback Chardonnay is 100% Stainless Steel fermented and aged, with no oak influence at all.
